Police searching for stolen ATV

CARIBOU, Maine — Police are searching for an ATV that was reported stolen from a Grimes Mill Road residence in Caribou on the evening of July 2.

As of Tuesday, police have already received multiple tips from the community, according to Laura Adams, administrative assistant for the Caribou Police Department.

Pictures of the ATV — a blue 2019 CFMOTO ZForce 800 EX with two seats — were shared on the Caribou Police Department’s Facebook page. Adams said there are a few similar ATVs in the area and that a couple reports ended up being for vehicles that were not stolen.

“We do appreciate the tips coming in,” said Adams, adding that police are often able to solve these cases with the help of community tips.

Anyone who locates the ATV in Caribou can report the vehicle to Caribou Police Department at 207-493-3301. If it is found outside of Caribou, Adams suggested calling the law enforcement responsible for covering that area as this will ultimately lead to a more efficient recovery of the vehicle.

Police said the keys were in the ATV when it was stolen, and are reminding the public to lock up their belongings and to take the keys out of any vehicles parked outside.
