Stockholm elects two selectmen, approves RSU 39 budget

STOCKHOLM, Maine — Eighty-four Stockholm residents cast their ballots during the town’s July 14 municipal election, electing two selectmen and approving the RSU 39 (Caribou and Stockholm school district) budget.

For a one-year term on the board of selectmen, Gregory Wardwell was elected with a total of 49 votes. Lisa McCulley received 32 votes and David Smith, Tim Sandstrom and Jeff Cote each received one write-in vote. 

For a three-year term on the board of selectmen, David Sterris was elected with 51 votes, David Smith received 32 votes and Tamara Cote received one write-in vote. 

A total of 68 voters were in favor of approving the RSU 39 school budget, 13 were opposed to the school budget, and three voters left the form blank.
