HOULTON, Maine — Aroostook County’s top three golf squads met at the Houlton Community Golf Course Tuesday, Sept. 29, for a tri-team match.
Playing in blustery conditions, with intermittent rain showers, the Shire golfers rose to the occasion shooting a 176 to earn the team victory. Caribou finished second with a 185, while Presque Isle was third with a 202.
Medalist for the day was Houlton’s Collin Moody, who shot a 34 to lead all golfers.
“We are a very young squad,” Houlton coach Dave Grant said. “The team came out of their shells yesterday and put in their best effort to date.”
Individual scores for Houlton were Moody, 35; Garett Harvey, 43; Kollin Irish, 46; Madalyn Quirk, 52; Allyssa Nightingale, 53; Thomas Wilcox, 58; Silas Nadeau, 60; Joely Stone, 61; and Clare Prescott, 65.
Individual Presque Isle scores were Noah Roy, 48; Gavin Dunleavy, 49; Hunter Stubbs, 51; Ian Mackinnon, 54; Jackson Maynard, 55; Owen Mackinnon, 56; and Jack Boone, 57.
Individual Caribou results were Bevin Barnes, 43; Cory Herbert, 44; Miles Collier, 48; Carter Quist, 50; Lars Spooner, 51; Sawyer Deprey, 55; Alex Picard, 56; and Jayden Fournier, 63.
