NASHVILLE PLANTATION, Maine — An Eddington woman was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday afternoon, after crashing the vehicle she was driving along Route 11 just north of Ashland.

Lindsey Brown, 20, of Eddington was in Nashville Plantation traveling north in a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo around 3 p.m. when she attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control of the car she was driving, according to Maine State Police Cpl. Chuck Michaud. Her car rolled over and landed on its roof.

Brown was able to climb from the vehicle on her own and was treated for minor injuries by Ashland Fire and Ambulance personnel, according to Trooper Ted Martin, who investigated along with Ashland police.

According to Martin, speed and inexperience contributed to the crash.

One lane of Route11 was closed for a short time while the vehicle was removed from the roadway.

Brown’s hearing on the matter will be held in Presque Isle at a later date.
