CARIBOU, Maine — Versant Power is looking into the cause of an outage in Caribou that has left hundreds without power.
Approximately 1,350 customers, most of whom are located in the southwestern part of Caribou, are without power, according to Versant Power spokesperson Amanda Cummings. The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
“Once we pinpoint the issue, workers will safely restore service as quickly as possible,” Cummings said. “The public is reminded to never touch a downed power line or a tree in contact with a downed line.”
The area of central Aroostook has been hit with strong winds over the past several days, including a microburst which struck in Limestone on Monday, June 21.
