HOULTON, Maine — Those searching for a new lawn tractor that is also capable of clearing snow need look no further than the newly opened County Tractor.
Located at 708 North Road in Houlton, County Tractor is the newest Kubota dealership in the state and offers both retail sales and service for lawn tractors, larger tractors, zero-turn mowers, snowblowers and power tools.
Owned by Kevin Nightingale and Neal Griffeth, County Tractor features a full line of Kubota and Mahindra tractors, both small and large, for the everyday homeowner to the commercial farmer.
In addition, the business sells a full line of Cub Cadet mowers and snowblowers for the upcoming winter season, as well as a wide assortment of TroyBilt, LandPride, DeWalt power tools and Stihl products.
County Tractor officially opened Sept. 8, but held a soft opening a few days prior. And if the initial response is any indication, business will be booming.
“Last we had our soft opening and we have been selling a zero-turn [mower] a day since then,” Nightingale said.
The company has about 130 Cub Cadet snowblowers just waiting to be moved to the large, 3,000-square foot showroom. The site previously served as Crawford Mobile Homes.
“We doubled the size of the prior building,” Nightingale said. “We have 6 acres of land, with tons of room for everything. Plus, we will service anything people want to bring in … any make or model.”
Aaron Peabody is the sales manager for the business, while Greg Tingley is the parts manager; Dan Girardin is the service manager; Steve Duguay is the service technician and Samantha Carpenter is the controller. There will also be several part-time employees.
“County Tractor wants to provide not only the best buying experience for the customer, but the best service after the sale in the industry,” Peabody said.
“We were just super happy to bring this business to the town,” Nightingale said.
