CARIBOU, Maine — After a drought to start the season, the Caribou girls varsity soccer team picked up their first win with a 3-1 victory versus Mount Desert Island at home Saturday afternoon.
Libby Collier scored the Vikings’ first goal of the game midway through the first half. Gabbie Sutherland and Vivienne Prashaw scored for Caribou in the second. MDI’s only goal came from Hannah St. Amand at the start of the second half.
Caribou outshot its opponent throughout the game, putting 25 shots on frame to MDI’s five.
The Vikings record improves to 1-2-1, while the Trojans fall to 0-4-0.
