Truck driver suffers minor injuries after Masardis crash
MASARDIS, Maine — A Thursday morning crash in Masardis resulted in minor injuries for a truck driver.
Matthew Carmichael, 44, of Winslow was traveling south on the Masardis Road at 11:30 a.m. when he veered off the roadway to the right, according to Maine State Police Trooper Noah Castonguay.
Carmichael told officers he endured a “sneezing fit” while driving and quickly lost control of his 2018 Western Star Tractor Trailer, which was loaded with cedar logs. He struck a large pile of logs at the Daaquam mill, police said.
The logs on Carmichael’s trailer were not disturbed in the crash, police said.
Carmichael suffered minor injures and was treated by Masardis Fire and Ambulance.
