HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton-Greater Houlton Christian Academy football team enjoyed a solid all-around campaign this past fall, and as such several Shires were lauded recently for their accomplishments.

The Little Ten Conference has announced its all-star selections and a number of Shires are included in the mix.

Collin Crouse was named the 2022 Little Ten Conference Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year. This is only the second time a player has won both awards in the same year, according to coach Jon Solomon.

Crouse was also named a first team offense all star, while Isaiah Ervin and Bronson Hanning were named second team all stars for offense. Sean Crouse and Jackson Cullen received honorable mentions.

For defense, Collin Crouse and Cullen received first team honors, while Ervin was named to the second team. AJ Lewis and Bronson Hanning were honorable mentions.

Lewis was also named to the All-Academic team.

The Shires finished with a 2-5 record and were ranked sixth in the Eight-Man Small School division, securing the final playoff spot in the region. The squad traveled to Lincoln for the quarterfinals, where the Shires fell to No. 4 Mattanawcook Academy, 58-56, in overtime.
