Mapleton man injured in Fort Fairfield rollover crash

A Mapleton man had to be extracted from his vehicle but was not seriously injured when he struck a utility pole in Fort Fairfield, police said.

Marshal Dyer, 41, rolled his 2013 Chevrolet pickup on Wednesday and was trapped inside, Chief Matthew Cummings said.

Dyer was alone, traveling north on Forest Avenue, when he veered off the road. The truck hit a large rock, rolled over and crashed into a power pole, Cummings said.

Driver impairment is suspected, Cummings said. Officers charged Dyer with operating after suspension and violation of conditions of release. Other charges may result after chemical testing.

Rescue crews removed Dyer from the truck and took him to Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle with non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt, police said.

Dyer is awaiting a Presque Isle Court Appearance on June 5.

The vehicle was towed.
