Police searching for suspect in Van Buren motorcycle theft, garage fire

VAN BUREN, Maine – The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly stole a motorcycle from a Van Buren property, lit the garage on fire, and then fled with the vehicle.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning at a 125 Monroe Street home in Van Buren. The Sheriff’s office also shared security camera photos along with the post, according to a release from the sheriff’s office,

“While we realize the photos aren’t the greatest quality, please let us know if you can identify the subject,” the post read.

The incident is also being investigated by the state fire marshal’s office.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to either call the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-432-7842 or call 207-532-5400 to reach a fire marshal. Individuals with information can also anonymously call Aroostook County Crimestoppers at 1-800-638-8477, and they may be eligible for a cash reward.
