Fall activities come to Mapleton

Last weekend the Mapleton Daze Committee held a very successful Fall Craft and Vendor Fair at the Mapleton Elementary School.

The committee thanks all who came out to benefit Mapleton Daze 2025 by supporting the crafters and vendors.  This event kicked off fall events in the Mapleton-Castle Hill-Chapman area.

Stew night

The next scheduled popular event for the Mapleton Daze Committee is their drive-thru stew night, which will occur on Oct. 26.  Two kinds of stew (chicken and beef) with a roll and dessert will be served starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Mapleton Lions Hall.  Baked beans will also be available.

The cost for each meal will be $10, with all funds used to cover the cost of Mapleton Daze 2025.

Harvest supper

Coming Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. is the State Road Advent Christian Church’s annual harvest supper.

Each year, the supper donations are used to benefit a family with substantial needs.  This year the supper will benefit Matt Dionne and family. The church membership has been praying for Matt and his family since last November, when he was struck by a vehicle while walking home. This has been a very trying year for him and his family.

This is a great opportunity for the church to come alongside and share God’s love with a local family that finds itself in a rough spot.  Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy turkey, mashed potato, vegetable, roll, stuffing and pies for dessert. All donations welcome.

Evelynn Wardwell, her father Dave Wardwell, mother Paige Wardwell and sister Charlotte Wardwell enjoy the 2023 Mapleton Daze hunters breakfast. The second annual breakfast is on tap for Saturday, Nov. 9, with proceeds benefiting Mapleton Daze 2025.

Hunters breakfast

The second annual Mapleton Daze Hunters Breakfast will be held at the Lions Hall on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. (or until the food is gone).

The menu will consist of a breakfast buffet filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, homemade baked beans, pancakes, toast, coffee, juice and water — enough to fill you up for the big hunt that day.  All hunters and non-hunters are invited.

Silent auction

Later this fall, the Mapleton Daze Committee will conduct their sixth annual online silent auction from Nov. 11 to 13.  This auction has been popular from its first year.

Bidding will start Monday, Nov. 11, at 8 a.m.  All bidding will be done online and will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Bidders submitting the highest bids at the end of the silent auction win the items bid on.  All funds raised will go towards Mapleton Daze.

Right now the Mapleton Daze Committee is looking for auction items. Contact Lynnelle Foster through the Mapleton Daze Facebook page.
