An area of low pressure will track along the Downeast coast this morning followed by an upper trough this afternoon. Snowfall totals in the 2-3 inch range are expected for most of northern Maine. Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. High pressure then builds in from Québec with a period of quiet weather lasting into the weekend.

Surface high pressure over Québec will build into the Valley through Saturday then move east into the Maritimes Sunday. Low pressure approaches from the west Monday; however, strong high pressure to the northeast in Canada will impede its progress. Currently, expecting a slight chance of snow Monday morning, then a chance of snow and rain Monday afternoon. A chance of rain showers is possible Monday night.
