FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Route 1A, also known as Limestone Road, was closed for several hours Friday due to a fuel truck that rolled over in the morning, according to the Fort Fairfield Police Department.

The department first announced the closure on Facebook at 9:20 a.m. At 2:30 p.m., it announced that the spilled fuel was cleaned up and that the road was reopened.

Earlier in the day, Fort Fairfield also shut down Route 167 near the 1A intersection on the Fort Fairfield side and at the intersection of Route 167 and Conant Road on the Presque Isle side. This was due to plow trucks and tractor trailer units stuck on the hill.

This road, according to the police, was reopened at 9:14 am.
