HOULTON, Maine — The Aroostook County grand jury handed up 55 indictments for December, including Houlton’s former town manager.
The grand jury indicted Cameron Clark, 37, of New Limerick, for tampering with a victim and domestic violence assault. Clark was also indicted on a third charge, Class C criminal obstructing prosecution.
Clark was arrested in September while serving as town manager, and the Houlton Town Council ended his contract in December. Court records obtained by the Bangor Daily News and The County revealed Clark filed a written “not guilty” plea to all three charges.
There have been no further developments in the case.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an indication that there is enough evidence in a case to move forward with a trial.
Theft and domestic violence charges topped the rest of the month’s indictments, which included the following.
