The Mapleton Daze Committee hosted the 2026 Mapleton pageants on a rainy Sunday, May 3.
Mapleton Elementary School was filled with fun and entertainment. Rhianna Desjardins, Miss Mapleton 2025, welcomed the audience to the pageants.
Wendy Maple served as mistress of ceremonies.
Entertaining the audience this year were Little Miss Mapleton 2025 Skylaya Darrell, Pre-Teen Miss Mapleton 2025 Evelynn Wardwell, Junior Miss Mapleton 2025 Charlotte Wardwell, Teen Miss Mapleton 2025 Emily Collins and Desjardins, with special guest Alana Lovely.
Competition activities included a prior interview with the judges and the contestants’ appearances casual wear, evening wear and the talent portion.

The 2026 Little Miss Mapleton is Jordyn LeBlanc, the daughter of Geoffrey and Lindsy LeBlanc. She danced to “Better When I’m Dancing.”
The 2026 Junior Miss Mapleton is Kendzie Winslow, the daughter of Gene and Carrie Winslow. She danced to “Confident.”
The 2026 Teen Miss Mapleton is Molly Kinney, the daughter of Kevin and LeRae Kinney. She danced to “Boss Ladies.”

The 2026 Miss Mapleton is Carrlyn Buck, the daughter of Barry and Martha Buck. Her talent was a piano and vocal performance.
The Mapeton Daze Committee congratulates all the winners and thanks all who came out to support these young women.
It’s auction time
The 64th annual Mapleton Lions Club Auction has now started online and will culminate in a live session on Saturday, May 16, at the Lions hall.
The Mapleton Daze Committee will host a baked bean supper prior to the auction, with donations supporting the 2026 Mapleton Daze festival. The live auction will start at 6 p.m. upstairs with Lions Matt Gregg and Ron Leonard as auctioneers.

Readers are encouraged to visit Matt Gregg Auctions (https://www.greggauctions.com/) to view most of the items and place bids.
The online portion will end before the live auction, and the last online bids will start the bidding action Saturday evening. Online bids that match the total value of the individual item are frequently accepted as the final sale bid.
President Rick Fowler of the Mapleton Lions Club said the club ran two very successful online auctions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The club now holds a hybrid auction with both online bidding and a live auction.
All items purchased online or in person may be taken Saturday after the live auction ends. If they are not taken then, they will be available for pickup on Sunday.
All auction purchases and donations help support the work of the Mapleton Lions Club in the tri-community area.
Counselors needed
Young women and student counselors are needed for the camping season. If you are looking for a summer job where rewards exceed the pay, the park needs young women who can work with the girls who come to camp this summer. Visit baptistpark.net/ for information on how to apply.
Memorial Day
The Mapleton Lions Club will conduct its traditional annual Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremony on Monday, May 25.
The club is seeking nominations for the parade grand marshal. If you know of someone who is actively serving, or who has served, in the military from Mapleton, Castle Hill or Chapman who you believe deserves the honor, contact Steve Hanning at 207-551-6358 or any other lion and provide the contact information of your nominee.
The nominee will be invited, but is not required, to speak at the remembrance ceremony.
