Mapleton is enjoying the 37th annual Mapleton Daze, which is now at the halfway point.
Tonight is a special fun night at Mapleton Elementary School. There will be bounce houses, slides, an obstacle course, a rock wall, human whack-a-mole and a mechanical bull, along with live music and food.
Game night will return Thursday to the Mapleton Elementary School with bingo and a cribbage tournament. There is no admission to the bingo game. Cribbage will begin at 6 p.m. and there is a small entry fee.
The chicken barbecue at Mapleton Lions Hall starts at 4:30 p.m. accompanied by Mapleton Methodist Women’s homemade pies. Dinners may be enjoyed at the hall or taken to go. Children meals will be available.

Cornhole tournament at the Mapleton Elementary School at 6 p.m. Also, there will be a ball pit for additional action play. Food vendors will be on site for the evening activities, then at 7 p.m. Star City Syndicate will perform. The Mapleton Daze fireworks show will start at dusk.
Saturday starts with 7 a.m. breakfast on Haystack Mountain and 7:30 a.m. free breakfast sandwiches with drinks will be provided next to the post office by the area churches. The Haystack Historical Society opens at 10 a.m. with homemade pie and ice cream at the museum. The children’s bike parade and regular parade start at 10 a.m.

At 11 a.m. activities start at the Mapleton Elementary School including food vendors, face painting, touch-a-truck, bouncy houses, demonstrations, games, petting zoo, horse rides and bike raffles (36). In the evening, a street dance will be held with Highway 207 and Train Wreck. A beer garden will be available as well.
On Sunday a morning ATV trail ride will be held. Then the week closes with the second formal performance of the new County Gospel Choir singing at the Mapleton Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Desserts will be served following the concert.
