The Central Aroostook Humane Society has been posting regular updates on Boedi, the dog that went missing more than a month ago. On Aug. 13, after a severe thunderstorm, Boedi ran from his home on Forest Avenue, close to the Easton/Fort Fairfield town line.
Boe’s family is frantic to find him and has even offered a large reward for anyone helping to bring him back home. Boe, a male Catahoula Leopard, is extremely friendly, food motivated, has tall, lanky legs and weighs approximately 65 pounds. He is chipped and missed so much.

Many people have joined in the search and continued to share the Facebook posts, which the family is thankful for. Because of the timing, Boe may have traveled farther than the surrounding areas. Anyone in the Easton, Fort Fairfield, Presque Isle, Caribou, Limestone areas, and even across the border: if you see something, please say something. Call 551-8267.

Years ago, our beautiful German Shepherd, Jessie, went missing. My husband left with our truck and, without him knowing, Jessie followed him down our long driveway and out onto the busy Rt 1A highway.
It didn’t take long to realize that she was missing, and we spent the next 12 or so hours frantic and thinking “the worst.” I spent the night heartsick, wondering where she was, lost in the woods, or hit by a car and laying in a ditch somewhere. The not knowing was heartwrenching.
Thankfully, a neighbor down the busy highway contacted us. Jessie had wandered into his yard, scared and confused because she had never been out of our yard. No words can express the pure relief of having her back home. I continue to pray for the safe return of Boedi and pray for what the family is going through.
For extra safety and to increase the chance of finding lost pets, it is always wise to have a simple microchip implanted. Also, a GPS collar will greatly help to find your beloved pet.
