The EPCO is holding a Box Top Bonanza Classroom Contest. Box Tops will be collected as usual for individual students. The Bonanza involves keeping a collective total of tops for each class starting Nov. 7 through the end of the week prior to February vacation. The total for each class will be divided among the number of students in that class to reveal the per-student average. Place Box Tops in a envelope or baggie with a student’s name and grade and number of tops included. The two classrooms with the most Box Tops per student will receive that money to use in their classroom.
Items needed
EPCO members are collecting gift items for the EPCO gift shop to be held in December. Please send in items or drop them off at the elementary school office. Also needed are wrapping paper, bags, ribbon and tags. The shopping will be for children only, not the entire family. So little ones, if you are looking to get some gifts for your family members, come and shop.
Hannaford Helps Schools
The Hannaford Helps Schools program will be running through Dec. 3, so please don’t forget to send in your qualifying receipts.
First Thanksgiving reenactment
Easton Elementary School celebrated its first Thanksgiving reenactment recently. Parents sent in many foods that were eaten at the very first Thanksgiving meal for the students to try. Included were samples of bear, partridge, moose, deer, pumpkin, cornbread, beets, apple cider, clams and berries, along with other foods for the students to try. School staff tallied students’ likes/dislikes for the teachers to graph in math class. A big thank-you goes out to everyone who sent in foods for students to sample.
