Lewis leads Tigers at Bar Harbor meet

BAR HARBOR — The MDI Relays serves as one of the most unique high school track and field meets in the state and Fort Fairfield made the trip to participate in the event Saturday.
The Tiger girls placed ninth in the competition with 28 points.
Leading the way for Fort Fairfield was the javelin team, which took second at 234 feet, with Logan Bubar pacing the Tigers by placing fourth individually at 84-4. She was also fifth in the discus (78-7), while teammate Whitney McNamee was sixth (72-3) as the Tigers’ discus team was third at 210-6.
Fort’s 4×60 shuttle hurdle team and the 4×100 team also placed, as did Sarah Owens individually in the 100 hurdles (sixth, 19.07 seconds).
The Tiger boys came in ninth place with 20 points. The FF triple jump team was the event champion with 111 feet, .75 inches and the discus team also was a winner at 333-8. Andrew Lewis was the individual winner in the triple jump at 42-6.35 and the discus at 144-1.
Vincent Campbell and Robbie Watson were the other two on the winning triple jump team, while Caleb Daigle and Noah Bernard joined Lewis on the discus team.
Lewis also had the top mark in the high jump (6-0).
Presque Isle will host all Aroostook County teams in a meet Friday, which begins at 4 p.m.
