Dump truck stolen from Houlton cemetery

HOULTON, Maine — A three-quarter-ton dump truck was stolen from the Evergreen and St. Mary’s cemeteries on the morning of Friday Nov. 6, according to the Houlton Police Department.

Police Chief Tim Deluca said that someone broke into a storage facility near the cemeteries and stole the truck, driving away with it. Police tracked down the stolen vehicle and found it at the side of the road off River Road in Oakfield. There was nobody in the truck, and it appears the person left the vehicle after it ran out of gas.

DeLuca said the police were still investigating who stole the vehicle.

“We are starting to investigate to determine who was behind this,” said DeLuca. “We are asking anyone in the public who may have more information to contact our detective, Jasmine Cyr, about the case.”
