Boy Scouts to collect food for local pantry

PRESQUE ISLE — Boy Scout Troop 171, along with help from the Cub Scouts from Pack 171, will once again be collecting non-perishable food items to support G.I.F.T., the interfaith food pantry in Presque Isle.

Boy Scouts of America began this national good turn in 1985 and it has continued for the past 28 years to help support our local food pantries in all areas of the country.
Collection bags were distributed throughout the Presque Isle area Nov. 9, and Scouts will go around to collect donations Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Please be as generous as you can, and if you did not receive a bag from the Scouts, simply place a bag of non-perishable food items in a bag or box on your front doorstep. Please label it for the “Food Drive” and the Scouts thank you in advance for your support.
