A brief Veterans Day ceremony was held Monday at Veterans Park in Presque Isle with several dozen taking part, including Eugene Michaud, a member of Hayward-Frazier Post 2599 Veterans of Foreign Wars, who placed a wreath at the soldiers’ memorial.
Also placing a wreath was Wilma McGrath, supported by nine other Ladies Auxiliary members. Eldon McPherson, an honorary member of the Presque Isle VFW post, was the oldest veteran in attendance. He is a 92-year-old native of St. Francis.
