      CARLSON, Warren B., Sr., 79, PRESQUE ISLE, May 14, 2014. Arrangements are under the care of Faye Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Warren B. Carlson, Sr., husband of Gail E. Carlson, passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2014, after a long illness. He was born in Fort Kent, November 15, 1934, the son of Ernest A. Carlson, Sr. and Jeannette Nolan Carlson.
 American Flag Color   Warren graduated from Presque Isle High School, class of 1952. He served in the Maine National Guard, Battery A, 152nd Field Artillery Battalion from 1952 – 1957. Following this, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Sergeant First Class from 1957-1962.
    Warren married Gail E. Randall on September 15, 1956. He was employed at Maine Public Service Company for forty-one years, retiring in 1996 as manager of the Stores department.
    Warren and Gail enjoyed their retirement by traveling and visiting family and friends. He enjoyed carpentry and building his home with his father, younger brother, Keith and friend, Joe Lockhart. He loved gardening, and following all sports, especially his favorite teams, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the Boston Celtics.
    Warren is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gail of Presque Isle; his children, Patsy Carlson of Presque Isle, CDR Cathy Carlson, USNR of Falmouth, and Warren B. Carlson, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Canaan; his brother, Keith Carlson and his wife, Yvonne of Presque Isle; his sisters, Marrena Bustard and her husband, Fred of Scarbo-rough, Sandra Mugler and her husband, Michael of Yorktown, VA, and Sheila Carlson of Portland; many nieces and nephews.
    Warren was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Jeannette Carlson; his brother, Ernest, Jr.; and sisters, Shirley Carlson and Joyce Carlson.
    Warren’s family thanks the Visiting Nurses of Aroostook hospice for their care during his illness and special Thanks to Carol and Ruth for their kindness and consideration to Warren and the family. We would like to say a special Thanks for Dr. Wood, Dr. Sood and the staff at the Aroostook Cancer Center. They were so kind and caring to Warren.
    Family and friends visited from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at Faye Funeral Home, 5 Erskine St., Presque Isle. Funeral services were held from the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Greg Jackson, officiating at 2 p.m. Following the service, there was a reception held at the funeral home before departing to Southside Cemetery, West Chapman.
