HOULTON, Maine — The Aroostook County grand jury handed up 46 indictments for September, including a man who allegedly eluded police after a high-speed chase through Caribou.
Sean Cloney, 35, was wanted on several charges, including driving to endanger and reckless conduct with a motor vehicle. Police spotted him driving his black Ford Ranger on June 25.
Officers attempted to stop Cloney, but he sped away and allegedly led police on a 4-mile chase through downtown Caribou. Police stopped the chase on an ATV trail because Cloney was driving too dangerously.
Cloney was indicted for aggravated operating after revocation (two counts), eluding, driving to endanger and violating conditions of release.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an indication that there is enough evidence in a case to move forward with a trial.
