The Sherman area Senior Citizens Club met at the gym for a potluck lunch followed by an informative talk by University of Maine Cooperative Extension representative Linda Trickey about healthy eating. Drink lots of water ever day; women drink 9 cups and men 13 cups, which seems like a normal amount for normal consumption. Watch you intake of sugar, read the labels. You’d be surprised at the amount of sugar used in products that are offered in most of our every day diets.
There will be a special RSVP meeting at Military Street Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22 in Houlton. Who would be interested in driving a carload of some of our members? Think about it and get someone interested in attending. It will be fun and enjoyable.
Our fall outing is planned for Oct. 13. Call Annie Atkinson (Mrs. Fred) if you want to go and were not present at yesterday’s meeting.
Present yesterday were: Fred and Annie Atkinson, Dean and Francis McKenney, Bonita Staples, Eva Perry, Donna Gras, Linnea Perry, Esther Greenier, and guest speaker Linda Trickey of the U. of Maine Cooperative Extension to whom we give thanks!
