ImageSPREADING THE WORD – This year, as The Battered Woman’s Project began their quest to promote awareness of Domestic Violence, they received help from the Early Childhood Occupations class from the Region Two School of Applied Technology. The students, along with their teacher, assisted in tying the purple ribbons throughout the community as an introduction to a Service Learning Project that they will be working on in conjunction with the Battered Women’s Project during the school year.  The Purple ribbons were prepared and donated by Daniel’s Florist.  Getting ready to go tie ribbons are, from left, Sandy Qualey, Early Childhood Instructor; Corinne Wotton, student intern; Jillian London, Emily Lee and Lacaylea Roy, Region II students; back, Karan Wotton of the Battered Woman’s Project and Karen Fitzpatrick of Daniel’s Florist.
