Aroostook Idol contestants have real talent

To the editor:
On February 8, my fiancée, our friends and I had the wonderful pleasure of being part of the Aroostook Idol audience in Presque Isle. While I wish to congratulate the three finalists from that evening, this is, in fact, not the ultimate goal of my letter. It was our hope that our favorite performers would have wound up as the three finalists! Unfortunately, this was not the case!     And so, with me deciding to write this letter, we would like to encourage these three extremely talented individuals – Randolph Michaud, Deanna Jordan and Lorna McGee – to enter the competition again next February in the hope that next year will be your year.
Ms. McGee gave the audience an air of elegance in a glittering silver blue gown as she crooned about what “mama” would do.
Mr. Michaud made us almost think that he was country singer George Jones on an Aroostook County stage, with a jacket studded with beautiful rhinestones, and a perfect rendition of “The Chair”.
We were left appreciating the obvious; that performing and singing for an audience is something that Ms. Jordan really loves and was born to do! This young lady was captivating, dazzling and unforgettable both visually and audibly, in a brilliant blend of black and red, crowned by a black fedora, as she belted out her song about helping make us popular. Exciting, charged with energy, she had command of the stage and really drew us in! Her voice was both powerful and sweet, with the added effect of a lilted giggle here and there to punctuate the song!
My fiancée has noted that with a few recording studios scattered about the county, someone would be wise to contact both Mr. Michaud and Ms. Jordan about recording CDs. It would be a smart move!
