To the editor:
I am writing you regarding an old Estey organ that my friend recently bought. According to the number inside it was built in July 1892 by Estey Organ Company in Brattleboro, Vermont. This organ also has another number inside that is No. 629. Upon checking further I found a Web page that lists opus numbers and when I came to this number it has listed: Houlton ME-First Congregational Church.
We are so excited to see if this organ did indeed belong to this church and find out just how it came to Canada. It is in perfect shape — not a mark on it, so we were thinking it must have been in a church at one time. There was also a hymn book with it. Could you be our eyes and ears and find out if this organ was ever in your town. Thanking you in advance for your assistance.
