    Mapleton – Gloria M. McPherson, 72, died March 7, 2008, at her home in Mapleton. She was born February 12, 1936, in Mars Hill the daughter of Charles and Georgia (Nadeau) Currier.
    She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Caribou, where she had been active in the Relief Society. Gloria was a member of the Mapleton Senior Citizens, volunteered with Meals on Wheels and had been a Lay Leader at the Mapleton United Methodist Church. She had been employed for many years by Mamouth Mart and later Kings Department Stores and then retired from the food services department at Pine St. School in Presque Isle. Predeceasing her was a previous husband, Ervin Perkins and a son Steven Lunney.
    Gloria is survived by her husband Elvin “Chick” McPherson of Mapleton; sons Ervin D. Perkins and his wife Julie of Castle Hill and James Lunney of Bangor; daughters Deborah A. Weaver and her husband Patrick and Jan M. Park and her husband James all of Presque Isle; a step-son Thomas N. McPherson and his friend Sue Schenning of Biddeford; grandchildren, Chad Brewer and his friend Christina McGuire, Nathan Brewer and his wife Alanna, Corey Park, Kelsey Park, Kara Perkins, Kyle Perkins, Kurtis Perkins, Jason Levasseur, Stevie Ann Lunney and Chrissy Smith; eight great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Dawn Currier Wolff, Debbie Currier and Gloria McMahon.
    Funeral services were conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 67 Paris Snow Dr., Caribou, with Bishop Walter Elliott officiating. Relatives and friends called at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Those who wish may send gifts in her memory to either the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle or to Caribou Pet Rescue.
