Houlton tennis team splits with Vikes

The Houlton tennis teams had a makeup match with Caribou on Monday in Caribou.
In the boy’s match, Caribou won 3-2.
Houlton’s Zach Harvey defeated Nick Willey, 8-3 and Lucas Anderson topped Jon Ouellette, 8-3 for Houlton’s win in singles.
Tyler Delano of Houlton was defeated 8-6 by Ezra Duplissie-Cyr, while in doubles, Caribou’s Phil Smith/Matt Coty bested Cody Woods/D.J. McGary 8-2 and Lucien Caverhill/Tyler Willey of Caribou defeated the Houlton pair of Craig Thomas/Zach Ritchie, 8-3.
The Houlton boys team is now 3-4.
On the girls’ side, Houlton lost 5-0.
In singles, Houlton player Holly Bouvier fell to Jenna Selander, 8-1; Kelsey Fitzpatrick was topped by Laura Collins, 8-1 and Megan Gerath was defeated 8-0 by Carlee Pinette.
In doubles, Ashley Hannigan/Maggie Garcia of Houlton suffered an 8-0 defeat to Missy Nadeau/Liz Barbosa, while Houlton’s Daisy Torres/Courtney Bragan lost 8-0 to Ashley Richards/Alexa Massey.
The Lady Vikings are 5-0, while the Houlton girls drop to 0-7.
