Vance, Charlotte Marie, 89, Presque Isle; in Mars Hill, April 12, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Main St., Presque Isle. A reception will immediately follow at the K of C Hall. A spring interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
MARS HILL – Charlotte Marie Vance, 89, died April 12, 2008, at a Mars Hill health care facility. She was born June 4, 1918, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Michaud) Theriault.
Charlotte was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle where she was a long-time member of the local chapter of the Daughters of Isabella. Charlotte is remembered by many for her years of work at the Presque Isle office of the Bangor Daily News and as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hayward-Frazier Post of the VFW.
Charlotte is survived by two sons and their wives, Peter A. and Kathryn Vance of East Berne, NY and Steven P. and Melissa Vance of Westfield; three grandchildren, Philip J. Vance of Brunswick, Michael Vance of Berne, NY, and Amanda Vance of Albany, NY; sisters, Mary Kelly and her husband Patrick of Benedicta, Katherine Ellis of Coopers Mills, and Sister Celestine (Margaret) Theriault of Portland. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her brother, Edward Theriault of Presque Isle, and her sister Louise Cook of Old Orchard Beach and Portland. She will also be fondly remembered by many special nieces and nephews.
Family and friends called at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Main St. in Presque Isle, with the Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. A reception will immediately follow at the K of C Hall. A spring interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Lynda Tardie, Dr. David Jones and the entire staff of the Mars Hill Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care Charlotte received during her stay there.
