On Dec. 20, the Southern Aroostook Community School will be holding an event called “Christmas Corner.” This is the second year the Parent Teacher Organization will be hosting this event.
Christmas Corner is an activity allowing elementary students to shop for their families. Children who do the shopping are asked to bring in $1 per item, which will go to the PTO. The students are allowed to purchase whatever gift they’d like to give to a loved one. Once the students pick out their gifts, volunteer elves, which are usually high school students, wrap the gifts for them.
The PTO is asking for donations of any new or nearly new items for men, women and children to use as the gifts. The PTO will be accepting gifts until the day of the event; they would appreciate anyone who can donate time as a volunteer during the event.
The PTO also supports students who aren’t capable of paying for these items.
