Hotham shares gross title at seniors event

    The Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Association held a tournament at the Presque Isle Country Club on Sept. 10, with 142 participating.
    Overall low gross score was a three-way tie between Cliff Chasse of Edmundston, Dan Hotham of Presque Isle and Kerry (Jud) Giberson of Covered Bridge, all with a 76. David MacFarlane of Edmundston recorded the low net score of 68.     Division I gross winners were, Chasse, 76; Hotham, 76 and Armand Corriveau, Edmundston, 79. Net, MacFarlane, 68; Giberson, 68 and Robert MacFarlane, 72.
    Division II gross winners were, Jenness Gushee, VaJoWa, 79; Keith Larlee, Edmundston, 83 and Mike Gagnon, Caribou, 84. Net, Hiram Towle, Aroostook Valley, Bill Casavant, Presque Isle and Norm Collins, Caribou, all 71s.
    Division III gross winners were, Russell Bouchard, Presque Isle, 86; Jon Smallwood, VaJoWa, 88 and Ed Quinlan, VaJoWa, 91. Net, Ronald Opthof, Limestone, 72; Mike Bernard, Presque Isle, 75 and Dale Plourde, Caribou, 76.
    Division IV gross winners were, Wilson Patterson, Woodstock, 87; Kenneth Fongamie, Presque Isle, 89 and Ian Robinson, Woodstock 90. Net, Mike Samon, Presque Isle, 69; Elton Thibodeau, Presque Isle, 70 and Harold Adams, Caribou, 74.
    Division V gross winners were, Jean Marc Nadeau, Fort Kent, 91; Herb Williamson, Presque Isle, 93 and Galen Cote, Presque Isle, 96. Net, Dave Griffiths, Presque Isle, 71; Paul Turner, Mars Hill, 73 and Gerald Clark, Presque Isle, 75.
    Division VI gross winners were, Roger Roy, Fort Kent, 94; Harold Violette, Long Lake, 97 and Steve Haywood, Covered Bridge, 102. Net, Al Skofield, VaJoWa, 69; Wallace Harvey, VaJoWa, 71 and Greg Freeman, Portage, 72.
