Katahdin Trust Co. promotes Chapman, Bugbee

    Officials with Katahdin Trust Company have announced the appointment of Peggy S. Bugbee as assistant vice president, retail services officer and Karen L. Chapman as vice president, retail training manager.     “These individuals have exhibited tremendous dedication and commitment to Katahdin Trust Company,” said Bonnie Foster, senior vice president, retail services of Katahdin Trust Company. “With nearly 50 years’ of experience in the financial services industry combined, makes them both highly valued members of our team.”

Peggy Bugbee

    Bugbee attended the Brewer school system, is a graduate of the Northern New England School of Banking and has completed several professional seminars and financial banking courses. Active in the community, she serves as treasurer of the Washburn Rotary Club, an area coordinator for the Meals on Wheels Program, vice chair of the Washburn August Festival and a member of the March of Dimes Steering Committee for the Aroostook County area and the American Red Cross Aroostook County Branch Advisory Committee. In 2004 Bugbee was selected as the Bank’s America’s Promise Volunteer of the Year.
    Bugbee has over 27 years’ of experience in the financial services industry. Through a combination of mergers and acquisitions she has worked at various banks during her career in a variety of positions including the accounting, loan processing and operations departments.  In 1988 she moved into the retail area and since that time has served as customer service representative, branch supervisor and consumer lender.
    In 2000, Bugbee assumed the position of retail services officer and manager of Katahdin Trust Company’s Washburn branch. In her new position she will be based at the Caribou office with responsibilities for overseeing the administration and management of the bank’s Caribou and Washburn locations. Bugbee resides in Mapleton with her husband Russell.

Karen Chapman

 Chapman attended the Caribou school system, obtained her B.S. in business management from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass. She has taken several classes through the American Institute of Banking and is a graduate of the National Consumer Credit School and the Northern New England School of Banking.
    In 2002 Chapman was selected as the Bank’s America’s Promise Volunteer of the Year and in 2004 received the President’s Award of the Four Avenues of Service Citation for Individual Rotarians from the Caribou Rotary Club.  She serves as Group Study Exchange/Youth Exchange Chair of the Caribou Rotary Club, member of the city of Caribou’s Capital Improvements Committee, Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center Building Committee, and the University of Maine at Presque Isle Board of Visitors.
    Chapman has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She joined Katahdin Trust Company in 1995 as assistant vice president and manager and assisted with the opening of the bank’s new Caribou office.  In 2006 she was promoted to vice president and manager of the Caribou office.  In her new position Chapman will work with retail staff to train and mentor new employees and will serve as coordinator and facilitator of all retail training initiatives for products and services as well as operational integrity, sales development and customer service excellence.
 Chapman resides in Caribou with her husband Rick and two children Caleb and Lauren.
