The members of the Bessie Gray Memorial United Methodist Church in Caribou will be presenting a “Summer Musicale-Opus V”, Sunday July 20 at 2 p. m. The event will feature Paul Kelley, organist/choir master at Ascension Episcopal Church in Gaithersburg, Md., for the past 16 years.
Kelley, the son of Floyd and Kay Kelley, grew up in Caribou, studying piano for 12 years. He was self-taught on the organ and began playing the pipe organ in church at the age of 15. He achieved a bachelor of fine arts degree in voice performance from Carnegia Mellon University located in Pittsburg, Penn. and a master of music degree in choral conducting from Catholic University, in Washington, D.C.
A variety of organ music will be presented during the afternoon concert with tea and refreshments served following the program.
Everyone is invited to enjoy an afternoon of wonderful organ music and to welcome Paul Kelley back to Caribou.
A free-will offering will benefit the fuel fund at the church.
