    Ready at all times to aid the regular police in an emergency are members of the well-trained Caribou Police Reserve. The reserve force has a find record of handling traffic during major fires, during parades and Civil Defense evacuation schemes. The group has been called the best of its kind in the state and has been awarded on this basis. The group in 1959 included, from left, front row: Clifton Wilcox, Merle Dempster, Octave Doucette, Abel Gagnon, Percy Drost and Dwight Vance. Middle row: Phil Walton, Kenneth Murchison, Ezra Miller, Owen Damboise, Gilman Pelletier, Eugene Bouchard and Lionel Blanchette. Back row: Arnold Tornquist, Herbert Cox, Eddie Bishop, Lucien Tardiff and Andrew Anderson. Other members were: Ben Shapiro, chief; Sterling Tibbetts, Forest Fentiman, Eugene Philbrick, Robert Dyer, Ralph Ferguson, Ivan Doody and Richard Burgess.
