Members of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department responded to a call received at 8:38 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, regarding an apartment fire at 668 Main Street.     Caribou Fire Chief Roy Woods said, “The fire occurred in the second floor apartment, occupied by a mother and child who were able to get out of the apartment just in time.” Chief Woods also stated there were no smoke detectors in the residence.
The two-story property, owned by Dana Caron, received fire damage to the living room area of the apartment and smoke damage to the rest of the residence. The property was insured and Chief Woods stated that the cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
