Governor appoints locals

    AUGUSTA — Governor John E. Baldacci has nominated Dorothy Martin, Ph.D., for appointment to the State Board of Education.     Martin has more than 30 years’ experience in education serving as career development director for the past five years at the Loring Job Corps Center, and four years as executive director of the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. 
    Martin earned an undergraduate degree from Louisiana College, master’s and doctor of education degrees from Northwestern State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi.
    The Governor also has named the following nominations for appointment to the Loring Development Authority: Richard Ezzy of Caribou, David King of Limestone and Thomas Clowes of Stockholm. These are all new appointments.
    The Governor’s nominations must be reviewed by the relevant Legislative committees and are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
