CARIBOU – Corinne Martin, 98, passed away Sunday, March 21, at a Caribou Nursing Facility with her family by her side. Corinne was born on August 16, 1911, in Winterville, the daughter of Paul and Adelle (Saucier) LaChance.
After the passing of her husband Wilfred Martin Sr., Corinne went to work at Loring Air Force Base in the housekeeping department, retiring at the age of seventy five. While employed there she made many friends and had many fun times.
Corinne is survived by her son, Wilfred Martin Jr. and his wife, Gloria of Caribou; and daughters, Cecile and her husband, Wilfred Bell of Caribou, and Bertha and her husband, Beverly Libby of Caribou. In addition, she is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Samuel LaChance of Caribou, Ora St. Peter of Caribou, Marc LaChance of Caribou, Yvonne Chasse of Plymouth, MA; as well as several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Corrine was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Martin Sr.; a daughter, Phyllis Ouellette; and siblings, Louis LaChance, Willie LaChance, Numa LaChance, and Sophie Clark.
Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover Street, in Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday March 25, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Reverend Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. A reception will be held following the service at the Parish Center. Committal services will take place in the spring at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
