Whittington publishes book review

    University of Maine at Presque Isle Recreation Professor Dr. Anja Whittington has had a book review published in the current issue of New Horizons in Adult Education and Human Resource Development, an electronic refereed journal that is published quarterly. .     Whittington’s book review on The Handbook of Experiential Learning by Melvin L. Silberman (Ed.) was one of two reviews included in the issue. According to its Web site, the journal, founded in 1987, provides faculty, researchers, graduate students and practitioners with a venue for publishing their current thinking and research within adult education, human resource development and related fields.

Zuras hired to write
online movie reviews
    Rich Zuras, an English professor at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, is taking on a new kind of writing after being hired last fall by www.fusedwire.com to write online movie reviews. Zuras, who directs the University’s Film Studies Program under the English degree, has written several reviews so far, from Nights in Rodanthe and Madagascar 2 to the latest Bond movie, Quantum of Solace and, most recently, Doubt and Valkyrie.
    Zuras previously has garnered several short story and poetry publications. His biography has appeared in recent editions of Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Education, and Who's Who Among America's Teachers. His fiction has most recently appeared in StoryQuarterly, Chicago Quarterly Review, South Dakota Review, and Weber Studies.
    He has held fiction scholarships at Wesleyan and Bread Loaf. He also is putting the finishing touches on his recently penned novel, The Bastard Year
