Lesley Elizabeth Leger-Kelley and Adrian Ciprian Miron were married on July 1 at The Samoset Resort on the Ocean in Rockport, Maine. The bride’s father, Caribou attorney, Peter S. Kelley, performed the ceremony; she was walked down the aisle by her mother, Marcia Mathieu Kelley, of Caribou, Old Orchard Beach and Naples, Florida. Her brothers, Christopher M. Leger and Alexander Leger-Kelley served as ushers.
Ms. Leger-Kelley, who is keeping her name, graduated with honors from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, Harvard College and The Tulane School of Law and attended a law program at Oxford University (England).
She served on the staff of a Member of the British Parliament in London and was Assistant Regional Counsel with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (Department of Justice) in Dallas, Texas. In Washington, D.C., she has served as Senior Counsel to the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Senator Susan Collins; Director of Policy to the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and currently works at the Headquarters of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Mr. Miron is the son of the late Rozsika Eke Miron and Gheorghe Ioan Miron of Valencia, Spain and was born and raised in the Transylvania region of Romania. He has a Law Degree from the Academia Alexandru Ioan Cuza (Bucharest), a Master’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Alba Iulia (Romania) and was selected for advanced law enforcement training in Germany and Hungary. He holds a Certificate of Achievement in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
He has held the position of Deputy Chief within the Romanian National Police, was a Special Investigator with the Dept. for Fighting Against Organized Crime and is currently a diplomat, serving as the Home Affairs Attache to the Romanian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
After visiting Mr. Miron’s family in Europe and their honeymoon in Spain, the couple will return to their home in Arlington, Virginia.
