Osgood earns silver pilot

EASTON, Maine – Air Force 2nd Lt. Matthew T. Osgood has earned silver pilot’s wings after completing the Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training Program at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla.
The student completed 190 flying hours in either the T-37, T-38, or T-1A aircraft, 62 flight simulator hours, 342 academic hours, 105 officer training hours, and weather training for flight plans, and the fundamentals of aircraft handling, instrumentation, formation, and night flying. At the end of the training, the officer received an aeronautical rating of pilot in the Air Force, competent and qualified to perform the duties and responsibilities thereof. He is the son of Tom and Ann Osgood of Easton. Osgood graduated in 2001 from Easton High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in 2005 from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
