    STOCKHOLM – Darcy Lausier, 80, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Mat-Su Regional Hospital in Palmer following a brief illness. He was born in Stockholm, on May 2, 1934, first-born son of the late Denis and Roseanna Lausier.
    He graduated from Caribou High School in the early 1950s, joined the U.S. Army and served our country for several years. He moved and settled in Connecticut, and worked as a barber and carpenter for many years. Darcy met Judith Allen and they married on June 25, 1966. He and his wife Judith moved back to his home town of Stockholm in the late 1960s and he continued his work as a carpenter. Years later, they moved to Cordova, Alaska for quite a few years and made many close friends. Due to the availability of carpentry work, he and his wife moved to California for several years. They moved and settled back in Alaska where Darcy retired.
    Survivors include his wife Judith of 49 years; two step-daughters and their families, Virginia Kirschmann of Leeds, Maine and Kathleen (Kate) Weibl of Cordova, Alaska; one stepson, Mark Kirko and his wife, Jodi, of Windsor, Vermont; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Anita Lund and her husband, Arlo, of Willow Spring, North Carolina; brother, Herb and his wife, Kathy, of Stockholm; brother, Dave and his wife, Erin, of Palmer, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, Denis and Roseanna Lausier, he was predeceased by one sister, Rita Chetelat and her husband, Richard, of Lyons, Georgia; and brother, Robert Lausier and his wife, Patricia, of Caribou.
    The family would like to thank the staff of Mat-Su Regional Hospital for the wonderful care Darcy received.
