Fall and Winter Expo planned

PRESQUE ISLE — The Fall and Winter Expo, which has quickly grown to be the largest in the region during the fall and winter months, will return to the Forum in Presque Isle on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.

The trade show will bring together more than 50 businesses and organizations with products and services ranging from moving snow and staying warm this winter, to the best ways to enjoy the seasons, both indoors and outdoors. In addition, the show will include hands-on activities and offer attendees the opportunity to win several great door prizes.
The Expo is being coordinated again this year by WAGM-TV and the Northern Maine Community College Foundation. Last year’s show was a huge success, drawing more than 3,000 community members from across the County, western New Brunswick and beyond. The number of exhibitors nearly doubled from 2007, increasing from 30 to 55.
“The Fall and Winter Expo is a great event. The timing is absolutely perfect as it’s approximately the time of peak foliage season and just a beautiful time of the year to be out and about in northern Maine. It’s really a win-win situation for everyone involved. Area residents are beginning to think about fall and winter activities and plans so they can attend and see what’s available to them right here in the County. Vendors have a wonderful opportunity to display their goods and services to a large group of people,” said Vicki Smith, senior vice president for Katahdin Trust Company and chair of the 2009 Fall and Winter Expo Committee.
Smith added that the partnership between WAGM and the NMCC Foundation is key to the success of the event. The show has also been beneficial to the NMCC Foundation, as proceeds from the Expo benefit the Foundation in its efforts to provide scholarships to worthy students.
“WAGM-TV is excited to be teaming again with NMCC to put on this year’s Expo. This show is poised to not only be an exciting and fun event, but an informative one as well,” said Kelly Landeen, WAGM-TV sales manager. “With the challenges and opportunities facing County residents during winter months, this show will have answers to alternative energy solutions, ways to stay healthy and, of course, ways to have fun.”
For more information on the event or to request an exhibitor’s packet, contact the NMCC Foundation Office at 760-1188 or Landeen at WAGM-TV at 764-4461 ext. 253.
