Oakfield Seniors

The Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfield was filled with the delicious aromas of Thanksgiving dinner as the members gathered for their November meeting. Everyone ate toooo much but enjoyed every bite.

Mr. Locke opened the business meeting with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the Flag Salute. Iona Nadeau won the 50/50. There were no birthdays to celebrate this month. All reports were read and accepted.

Purple Hat Ladies

The Purple Hat ladies met on Nov. 8 at The Pit Stop in Littleton to enjoy a delicious meal and make plans for their Christmas meeting at the Smyrna Merrill Historical Society in Smyrna on Dec. 13 at the usual time.

Members are to bring something for the animal shelter wrapped in newspaper.

Happy Losers

On Nov. 16 the weight group called The Happy Losers held their weekly meeting at the United Baptist Church vestry in Island Falls.

Jackie Pratt, the leader, opened the meeting and welcomed members, followed by the pledge and roll call. Nine members weighed in and attended the meeting.

Judi MacArthur was the loser of the week, and Dotty Rand was the runner-up. Great job, ladies.

Sherman Seniors

On Nov. 16 the Sherman Area Senior Citizens had their meeting, which opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge to the Flag.

Everyone enjoyed a wonderful potluck lunch.

The guest speaker was Christine McPherson, volunteer coordinator with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

TOPS

The weekly meeting of TOPS was held Nov. 18 at the Aldergate Building on Kelleran Street, Houlton.

The loser of the week was Brenda Lacostic and the runner-up was Pam Richardson. The skinny dish was held over until the next meeting, to be held on Dec. 3.
