Regional Rail Response training session in Caribou

A Regional Rail Response training is scheduled to take place in Caribou in July. The program is designed to bring local and regional agencies together to better understand response efforts and roles should a derailment or incident occur.

James School hosts July 4 festivities

The James School, located at 125 Niles Road in Presque Isle, will host a reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon by Kim Smith from the Presque Isle Historical Society. Molly the Trolley will be at the Riverside Pavilion at 11:30 for rides to the school at no cost.

Houlton native and wife win inspirational book award

An inspirational book based on the cross-country bicycling adventures of a Houlton native and his wife has won a prestigious national literary award. “Wheels of Wisdom,” by Tim and Debbie Bishop of Thompson’s Station, Tenn., was recently awarded a 2017 National Indie Excellence Award in the inspiration category.
