CONNOR, Maine — A home in Connor was a total loss after a fast-spreading fire engulfed the structure, including an attached garage, on Sunday.
Both residents were home when the blaze began but escaped safely before firefighters arrived, fire officials said.
Thirty members of fire crews from Caribou, Presque Isle and surrounding towns responded to the 911 call at 11:52 Sunday and remained on the scene at Adams Road for six hours.
Though firefighters used 50,000 gallons of water to distinguish the flames, their efforts were unable to stop the fire from fully destroying the home and garage, according to the Caribou Fire Department.
No one was injured in the fire and most of the interior contents of the home were saved.
