The Star City Senior Citizen’s Club met Dec. 21, 2006 at the V.F.W. with 51 members and 13 guests.
The table blessing was given by Marie Lamb, after which everyone enjoyed our Christmas dinner. The  meeting was opened by President Marie Lamb, with the “Lord’s Prayer,” flag salute, and one verse of “America.” Our sick member is Aliena Clough. We ask that everyone keep her in their prayers. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were tabled. Marie Lamb was presented a plaque for her 10 years’ service as president of the club.
Next we did our annual Christmas gift exchange by drawing numbers. Everyone received a gift. Prior to our meal we were entertained by live music. The band members were Bob Craig, Rosalie Craig, Amos Kelly, Kathleen McCarthy, and Ann Smith. The meeting was then adjourned.
The Star City Senior Citizen’s Club met Jan. 4 at the V.F.W. with 37 members, one guest,  and one new member, who is Buster Prosser. The table blessing was given by Nancy Young, after which everyone enjoyed a potluck luncheon. The regular meeting was opened by Vice-president Betty Wilson, with the “Lord’s Prayer,” flag salute and one verse of “America.”
Our sick members are Granville Lamb, Norma Evans, and Aliena Clough. We ask that everyone keep them in their prayers. The secretary’s and treasurer’s report was read. It was motioned the reports be accepted as read. It was then seconded and voted on by the membership. The meeting was then adjourned to play bingo. There is an amendment to the Dec. 21 minutes. On Dec. 21, 2006 at our Christmas party, members Quentin Warren and Shirley True entertained us with Christmas music, as well as the band members.
