Local students honored for achievements

Husson
The following students have been named to the dean’s list at Husson College for the fall semester, 2006: • Amanda L. Post, the daughter of Sandra Post, of Presque Isle.  A graduate of Presque Isle High School, she is a first-year business administration major;
• Joel H. Tourtelotte, the son of Marilyn Tourtelotte, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, he is a first-year criminal justice major;
• Amy L. Carmichael, the daughter of Mark and Sherrie Carmichael, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, she is a sophomore accounting major;
• Nathan M. Carter, the son of Mark and Deborah Carter, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, he is a first-year nursing major;
• Betty Wen Cen, the daughter of Qiang and Yan Cen, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, she is a sophomore business administration major;
• Corey D. Collins, the son of Derrick and Dianne Collins, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, he is a first-year business administration major;
• Caitlin M. McPherson, the daughter of Ronald and Christine McPherson, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, she is a first-year occupational therapy major; and
• Beth A. Michaud, the daughter of Gary and Lori Michaud, of Presque Isle. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, she is a first-year physical therapy major.
To be named to the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.4 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Pryor
Megan Pryor daughter of Joe and Amyee Pryor, of Bridgewater, recently completed her first semester at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Megan is a secondary education major and finished the semester with a 3.9 GPA, placing her on the dean’s list.

    BANGOR, Maine — Approximately one-half of the students enrolled in the associate and bachelor degree programs at the New England School of Communications were listed on the school’s academic honor roll for the 2006 fall semester. Of the 150 students making the list, 66 achieved high honors and 84 achieved honors status. Two students had perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Named to the honor roll for the semester were several students, including the following from Aroostook County: Garrett Finley, Portage; Rick Fitzgerald, Presque Isle; Daren Hunter, Ashland; Kristyn Labrie, Fort Kent; Jolene Ledger, Hodgdon; Zachary Mazur, Caribou; Jacob Lansky, Reed Plantation; Kyle McCormick, Houlton; Naomi Morrow, Caribou; Jason Cote, Houlton; Elias Cottle, Houlton; Justin Baker, Caribou; and Shawn Frost, Caribou.
